About

HiI I’m Briggs, but most people just call me Uncle Boggy, a nickname my first nephew gave me years ago that somehow stuck.
I started Uncle Boggy’s Porch Bites as a way to reconnect with the people around me and to create a community that only happens around great food. What began as small porch pop-ups, meals featuring a handcrafted sandwich, housemade chips, a specialty drink, and my now-famous chocolate chip cookie, quickly turned into a neighborhood ritual.
Those porch pop-ups grew so fast that a few unnamed food trucks called the health department to complain about all the fun we were having. I had to shut down for a bit, but the dream never left. Now, I’m opening The Bodega, a custom-built neighborhood food pop-up concept where that same porch-born spirit lives on.
I’m obsessive about the details. Every element on the menu has been tested, refined, and perfected, some recipes have taken years to get right, like my Cubano or that signature cookie. Everything is made from scratch with the best ingredients I can find, and I work with local producers whenever possible.
For me, food is art, it’s creativity you can taste. I believe everyone can cook, and that most of us first engaged in this culinary creativity through a humble sandwich: grabbing whatever ingredients we had, experimenting, and somehow making something special. That’s the heart of Uncle Boggy’s, food made with heart, community, and a little bit of that porch magic.
